Arlene Hsing graduated from National Cheng Kung University with a major in Chinese Language and Literature, and a received a Master’s degree from its Institute of Art Studies. Hsing received a PhD in Children’s Literature from Newcastle University in Great Britain. During her studies, she never gave up on her literary creativity, and published many works, leading to her receipt of numerous awards including the Golden Tripod Awards, and the Good Books for Everyone Award Best Children’s Books of the Year. Her publications abound, including 125, We are Family!, My Dear, Hope Violin, Wabi and Sabi, A Picture Book of Rhymes with Baby and Little Animals, Important Conversations with Children Using Picture Books.
Ta-Yuan Tsai was born in Taipei in 1966. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Tunghai University, and his Master’s degree in Visual Communication Design from National Kaohsiung Normal University. Tsai is currently an art teacher at St. Dominic Catholic High School in Kaohsiung, and a lecturer at National Kaohsiung Normal University and Shu-Te University teaching visual communication design.
In his free time, Tsai illustrates for as well as writes children’s picture books. His works have been twice selected for the Bologna Illustrators Exhibition, and the Korean CJ Picture Book Award. One of his most popular books is The Hope Violin.
